CENTRE POMPIDOU
Studio 13/16 (2024)
Approached by Centre Pompidou, my series of photographs was featured in the centre’s new wing, Studio 13/16. This unique place is both a space for artistic creation for young people with artists and collectives, as well as a place of socialization for the teenagers.
The original series was my first exploration into post-production VFX with my photography, inspired by the works of Cindy Sherman, Inez and Vinoodh and Gillian Wearing.
Using myself and my housemate Michael Naughton as models, I created fictitious characters, caught in a moment of animation and emotion, plucked from their habitats and displayed like wax figures.
This series is indicative of how I work with photography, often playing with the uncanny valley and how far I can push post-production VFX whilst maintaining a semblance of realism to the work.
